Sprocket 2025 Annual Report

January 16, 2026

As Sprocket marks five years since beginning entrepreneurial programming, the 2025 Impact Report captures a moment of growth and momentum for Paducah and Western Kentucky. What began as an effort to support local entrepreneurs has grown into a place where founders, startups, and small businesses come to find guidance, connection, and momentum.

Over the past year, that work has taken many forms, from one-on-one coaching and structured startup programs to community gatherings and access to capital. Together, these efforts help entrepreneurs move ideas forward and build businesses that can grow and stay rooted here.

The 2025 Impact Report highlights what that support looks like in practice and how Sprocket is helping strengthen the region’s entrepreneurial and startup ecosystem for the long term.

Sprocket by the Numbers

Sprocket’s impact is rooted in action, not theory.

2025 Impact

  • $1.2M invested into startups
  • 1,000+ event attendees
  • 380 coaching sessions
  • 17 companies started
  • 13 jobs created

Since 2021

  • $4.9M invested into startups
  • 3,000+ event attendees
  • 1,000+ coaching sessions
  • 44 companies started
  • 104 jobs created

These numbers reflect a deliberate, program-driven approach. We focus our resources on what works, building, testing, and refining programs that deliver real outcomes for entrepreneurs, and letting go of what doesn’t.

Sprocket Paducah Coffee Hour & Cowork

A thriving startup ecosystem starts with belonging.

In 2025, we hosted 49 Sprocket Coffee Hours, welcoming 750+ entrepreneurs, founders, mentors, and young professionals into a space designed for connection, collaboration, and support. Coffee Hour continues to serve as a key entry point for people exploring entrepreneurship, and a reminder that building a business doesn’t have to be isolating.

Our cowork space complements this work by providing a welcoming, professional home for startups, freelancers, and remote workers. As new employers move into the region, Sprocket offers a place where emerging talent can plug in, build relationships, and grow locally.

Event Highlights

Sprocket’s events are designed to create access to opportunity, capital, and community.

In 2025, events like the West Kentucky Innovation Challenge and Demo Day gave founders the chance to pitch their companies, receive meaningful feedback, and connect directly with investors, regional leaders, potential customers, and their local community.

SprocketWKY

Thanks to the USDA, we launched Sprocketwky.com, which serves as a free, region-wide platform connecting entrepreneurs to on-demand resources and support. You can access education, mentorship, and community. With 33 mentors, 25 courses, and an active discussion forum, the platform ensures founders across all 22 counties can access support, regardless of location or stage.

Market Fit Lab

In February, we launched the Sprocket Market Fit Lab with only seven companies, and now we are supporting 40+ startups. As our flagship startup program, this program offers free coaching, structured curriculum, funding opportunities,  and a clear pathway from idea to product-market-fit. Product-market-fit ensures founders aren’t just launching businesses, but building models that work, scale, and contribute meaningfully to the regional economy.

Coming in 2026

The opportunity ahead is significant.

With larger employers entering the region, Western Kentucky has an unprecedented chance to cultivate a thriving startup ecosystem and retain young talent. In 2026, Sprocket will expand its role as that connective infrastructure.

Key initiatives include:

  • Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA), addressing the transition needs of the 190,000 Kentucky business owners nearing retirement, many without succession plans
  • Advancing major grant proposals with the EDA, NSF, and the Commonwealth of Kentucky, focused on commercialization, capital access, and long-term economic resilience

Sprocket exists to ensure this growth is inclusive, local, and sustainable.

Thank You for Your Support

None of this work happens without partners who believe in building something lasting.

Your support has been instrumental in shaping Paducah and Western Kentucky’s startup ecosystem over the past five years and in positioning our region for what comes next. We’re grateful for the entrepreneurs who take the leap, the mentors who give their time, and the partners who invest in long-term impact.
