HempWood Opens Cutting-Edge Factory in Murray, KY, Expanding Its Footprint in Sustainable Manufacturing

August 07, 2025

On August 5, one of Kentucky’s coolest innovations celebrated a major milestone—HempWood® officially opened its second factory in Murray, signaling the next era of growth for this fast-rising sustainable manufacturer.

With food trucks, live music, and guided tours filling the air with energy, the ribbon-cutting ceremony drew industry leaders, public officials, and regional partners eager to see what’s next for the brand putting Western Kentucky on the map for eco-friendly innovation.

Senator Rand Paul joined HempWood Founder & CEO Greg Wilson at 1 p.m. to cut the ribbon, officially launching the new facility—right on the same campus where it all began.

“HempWood is excited to enter the next phase of our growth in Murray, Kentucky,” Wilson shared. “Our second factory will bring new HempWood furniture and millwork to the market!”

And that’s just the start. This expansion means increased capacity, faster lead times, and even more product customization across their core lines—flooring, panels, furniture, and millworks—all made with carbon-negative, formaldehyde-free, soy-bonded hemp grown right here in the U.S.

It’s a win for local manufacturing, a win for sustainability, and a clear signal that world-changing ideas can take root—and thrive—in Western Kentucky.

Why it Matters

At its core, HempWood is out to replace high-impact hardwoods with a renewable alternative that’s stronger, cleaner, and better for the planet. With patented tech and a passionate team, they’re transforming what’s possible for the building materials industry—and doing it all from Murray, KY.
